In Remembrance

Larry Ray Stallings
Life and reflection
Larry Ray Stallings was the first of nine (9) children conceived by Alice and William Carl Stallings. He was born on June 6, 1951 in Tacoma, Washington.

Over the course of 34 years in the field of substance abuse treatment, Larry's knowledge and expertise was viewed as an essential component to the success of a Therapeutic Community at Phoenix House as he literally worked his way up the corporate ladder from resident to Regional Director of Clinical Training. Larry took his knowledge and 30+ years of experience into prisons, juvenile halls, community-based
organizations, treatment facilities and schools.

Those that knew Larry knew that he loved his family, loved to cook and loved to give back. If Larry was involved in any function, it was a guarantee that one of these three concepts was represented. If his family wasn't there, he was talking about them. If there was no food, he was cooking some. If someone was in need, he was helping out. Even helping those who probably didn't deserve it.

He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life a loving wife of almost 37 years, Judy Stallings, his two children, Justin and Cherese Stallings as well as his siblings and many other family members who loved him dearly.

The Scott Newman Center had the pleasure of working with Larry in the late 90's when he brought a group of Phoenix House teens to Rowdy Ridge Gang Camp for a powerful and fulfilling retreat experience hosted by the staff of Rowdy Ridge.

Larry's wife, Judy, a director of Prototypes Women's Center has been an active participant and supporter of Rowdy Ridge Gang Camp and his daughter, Cherese is a respected and beloved member of our Rowdy Ridge Staff & Team. Judy & Cherese, you are both loved. The Rowdy Ridge and Scott Newman Center share in your sadness and grief but also celebrate the amazing person that was your husband and dad, Larry.

Peace.
